Phone with 12 MP camera and optical zoom

The question is, what is this really? Phone with camera or camera phone?

Samsung is playing big. It’s not enough that your new phone got a 12 MP camera, even equipped with a triple optical zoom. Maybe everyone knows that the currently available mobiles have a digital zoom option, which is, to put it mildly, so it doesn't give satisfactory results when shooting more distant subjects. It’s true that 3x optical zoom isn’t a big deal either, but let’s not forget we’re talking about a phone here.

For those who wouldn't even have enough, let's just say that the new device is capable of capturing 720p movies with a 30 frames per second refresh. Named the W880, the phone has a 3,3-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It has a Bluetooth radio, 4GB of internal memory and is reportedly built into a digital TV receiver.

The phone will be available in Korea from next month, the date of launch in Europe and the introductory price are not yet known.
