Most GeForce 9800 GX2s follow the specifications recommended by NVIDIA when they are released - including the different clock speeds. Maybe it’s no coincidence that we’ve heard enough about heating problems, which is no wonder, as even a single 8800 GTS can precipitate considerable heat. Still, MSI thinks some factory tuning is needed from the start, so their 9800 GX2 will be ticking at 600 MHz instead of the GPU 660.
The decision is by no means unexpected, and if we want to guess, we can still expect similar crimes from the following manufacturers: eVGA, BFG and maybe Gainward.
