Overdrive Test Pentium E6500K: Intel's New Secret Weapon?

It looks like Intel will once again help tune its processors.

The help in this case is that, like AMD Black Edition processors, the multiplier lock is removed, meaning that if all is true, we will come across CPUs where not only the GHz but also the multiplier can be adjusted.

The first such newcomer is the E6500K, which is reportedly only available in China for now. When lettering the processor, the letter K is important, as plain pieces marked E6500 remain multiplicative.

EXPreview editors have already had the opportunity to try out the lockless series. The best result was achieved with a core voltage of 1,76 volts and a multiplier of 17 times. The processor ran at 2,93 MHz instead of the original 4607 GHz. The result is evidenced by the CPU-Z data sheet below.
