Theater on the Internet

Theater on the InternetThe Net Stage begins with Károly Szakonyi's record-breaking play, Adáshiba. The internet company primarily wants to broadcast Hungarian theaters to Hungarians abroad.

An enthusiastic Budapest company of twenty people launched a unique initiative. It was decided that the performances of the Hungarian theaters would be sent to the Hungarians living abroad. More than a year and a half of organizing work has borne fruit, and tickets for the first performances in a few days can be purchased from anywhere in the United States to Australia.

Adáshiba, performed by the Gyula Gózon Chamber Theater, was seen by members of a community of six hundred Hungarians in San Diego at an online screening at the local Hungarian House. From Monday morning, the lectures will be available to the Internet audience on Monday http://netszinpad.com page.

The aim of the company is to spread Hungarian culture, nurture the Hungarian language and to provide assistance to Hungarian theaters, which are often in a poor financial situation. According to Ágnes Szabó, the director of the Gyula Gózon Chamber Theater, the Netszínpad is also an opportunity for young Hungarian acting talents, who can be screened all over the world.

As János Laczkó, the managing director of Infotéka Kft., Which operates the Netszínpad, said, the performances will be broadcast through several channels. The pieces can be viewed by individual viewers through the website, in addition, the Netszínpad will organize screenings in Hungarian community houses and Art cinemas. There is also talk of some cable TV providers including their performances in their programs. Previews of the pieces played can be viewed continuously at Facebookand the NetstageYouTube channel.
