An average Hungarian household spends about HUF 91 on an electricity bill annually, which means that by replacing their older desktop computers with new ultrabooks (depending on user habits), they can save approximately HUF 16-17 per year. The annual electricity bill of a single desktop computer can reach up to 36 forints if users never turn it off.

- If you use a desktop computer older than five years, consider replacing it with a new ultrabook, laptop or convertible notebook, as this can save you about 17 forints a year!
- Power consumption is highest for computationally intensive tasks such as running games or editing videos, so limit their time if you want a lower bill!
- If you’re not playing on your machine, you’ll also need an integrated video card, which consumes far less than stand-alone solutions.
- Don't leave your computer turned on unnecessarily, as an older desktop PC will increase your electricity bill by nearly 100 forints a day!
- Filming on ultrabooks is the cheapest, charging the electricity bill by less than HUF 1 per hour - the cost of a plasma TV is 11 times higher.
