Samsung: an alternative energy source for notebooks

Samsung and Toshiba are looking for a successor to traditional lithium-ion batteries in the person of the fuel cell solution.

Samsung unveiled a prototype notebook with a DMFC (Direct Methanol Fuel Cell) back in December last year, which showed encouraging signs, but the fuel cell size was still too large, although we could already talk about very impressive energy storage capacity, as the manufacturer's report said it boasted a power of 1200 Wh.

In the case of the improved version, the size of the fuel cell has been significantly reduced, yet it has lost nothing of its efficiency: according to theoretical figures, the notebook can be operated continuously for up to 1 month.
