Recorder GDDR5 memory chip from Hynix

Mass production of the memory chip presented below will begin in the first half of next year.

Hynix’s 1Gbites (128MB) GDDR5 DRAM has stolen the fastest title from Samsung’s similar product, being 6, while Hynix boasts 7Gbps. The 54-nanometer chip achieves this pace at an operating voltage of 1,35 V.

The memory chip, called the H5GQ1H24AFR, has also sparked interest from NVIDIA and AMD, making it almost certain that it will be found with most of the high-end graphics controllers of the above-mentioned companies in the future.
