PowerColor: Lifetime Warranty for ATI Video Cards?

In the course of the market struggle that has been very aggressive in computing for years, more and more manufacturers are enticing their customers by offering a lifetime warranty on certain of their products.

PowerColor announced today that it will provide a lifetime warranty on all ATI Radeon X2006 family video cards manufactured after January 24, 1900. With this step, the manufacturer wants to further prove its expertise and the outstanding quality of its products to users.

The lifetime warranty includes the following conditions:

  • Applies to the entire boxed X1900 series
  • There must be no physical damage to the card
  • You must register our product after purchase
  • For now, it's only valid in the U.S. and Canada
  • Postage is borne by the buyer
  • Under the warranty, the defective product will be repaired, if this is not feasible, the user will receive a new one instead, but only if a certain manufactured quantity is available from the card.

Chrissy Chang, one of PowerColor's marketing department managers, said: "We decided to take this step because we value our customers who have supported us with their purchases for many years. There are a lot of alternatives out there for those looking to buy a graphics card these days, but we've found that this wide selection isn't matched by adequate product support. We understand that reliability and quality are the main deciding factors when making purchases, so PowerColor feels it is its duty to ensure that users enjoy the company's support long after purchasing their product."
