The CUBOT P20 is deceptively similar, but inside, of course, completely different.

It’s like the iPhone X only costs a tenth

The iPhone X, now we can say, has set a trend with the peninsula reaching into the display, the notch, as almost every manufacturer has launched a phone with a similar capability. However, the CUBOT has reached a level, making their phone a faithful follower of the iPhone X not only from the front but also from the back. It is a bit larger in size, as the iPhone X is 14,36 inches instead of 15,6 inches tall and 7,09 inches wide in width. The back cover is, of course, not made of glass, but the arrangement of the cameras and the flash shows complete identity. Of course, the CUBOT phone also has a fingerprint reader, which we no longer find on the iPhone X.

As you can read in the title, the new CUBOT P20 only costs a tenth of the sample phone. Its capabilities, on the other hand, are good compared to it, as it has an eight-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. True, the central unit is the slightly older MediaTek MT6750T, which is capable of a maximum clock speed of 1,5 GHz, but in our experience, it is also capable of moving the Android 8.0 installed on it at the right speed.

Of course, it’s not as good as Apple’s phone when it comes to cameras, but again, we can only say that you don’t have to be ashamed of its price. An 8 (interpolated 13) - and 16 (interpolated 20) +2 megapixel camera pairs work on the front panel. The resolution of the display is also outstanding in this price range, as the pixels are displayed on an IPS panel with FHD + resolution instead of the usual HD +, of which 2246 x 1080 is available due to the new front panel design. The diagonal is also larger than standard FHD displays, 6,18 inches.

The phone is not bad in other respects either. Wi-Fi supports the n standard and is dual-channel, meaning it works on both the old 2,4 and the new 5 GHz, Bluetooth 4.0. GPS and GLONASS are available with satellite support. In addition to the fingerprint reader, we find a gravity sensor, acceleration and proximity sensor. The phone has a 4000 mAh battery, which again means only more capacity than usual.

The price of the CUBOT P20 is therefore particularly friendly, currently in the introductory campaign they are asking for $ 130, or 36 forints. If you liked it you can find it here: CUBOT P20
