A smartphone has been unveiled by Dell

In response to the challenges of the market, the patinated manufacturer ventured into a completely new area for it.

After a few leaked photos, as well as an unexpected announcement, it also appears that Dell is also entering the smartphone market, a market where big names like RIM or Palm are struggling to survive.

It is not known exactly what motivated the company's decision, but their first product, the "Mini 3i", does not bode well in terms of sales: many of the mobile phones with a 3,5-inch, 360 × 640 pixel resolution, touch-sensitive display — the can be found in competitors — technology is omitted, so the device does not have, among other things, a Wi-Fi radio or 3G support. It is a small comfort that the Bluetooth controller, the socket for microSD cards, and the 3 megapixel camera are already part of the knowledge set, just as it is expected that the fact that the device runs on an Android-based operating system will not encourage users to buy either.

The possible date of entry of the device, which is currently in prototype status, as well as its expected purchase price are not yet known.
