Smart storage from Verbatim

The portable SmartDisk series will be available in four sizes.

Verbatim has introduced external storage devices that can be used on both PC and Mac systems. The 120, 160, 250 and 320 GB storage devices have in common that they hide 2,5 ″, 5400 rpm hard drives that can communicate with our desktop computer via a USB 2.0 or FireWire connection.

As usual, pre-installed backup software has been replaced with disks, and Mac owners can enjoy compatibility with Time Machine, which resides in the operating system. Sales of the revamped SmartDisk family could begin as early as the end of the month, with a suggested retail price of around $ 120 for the smallest 99-gig version.
