Nokia's browser has become open source
Nokia in Finland has made its web browser for mobile phones downloadable and upgradable for anyone.
The browser called S60 WebKit uses the same rendering engine as Konqueror on Linux (KHTML and KJS) and Safari on Macintosh (WebCore and JavaScriptCore). Optimized for the small display of mobile devices, the application supports DHTML and AJAX.
Structure of the S60 WebKit
Nokia's E- and N-series devices will be the first to include a browser licensed by the Finnish company BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution).
