NVIDIA Titan V - the $ 3000 graphics card (updated!)

In the absence of competition, the company has reached an unprecedented level.

The Titan series has an interesting career behind it. The series has always been synonymous with the top category, but by now NVIDIA has broken out of the player market, following a kind of (semi) professional approach instead. Titan V is also a demonstration of technological strength, the flagship of the architecture named Volta, it mobilizes amazing resources. The soul of VGA is the GV100 chip, which houses 5120 CUDA cores (80 in a streaming multiprocessor) and 320 texturizers, among other things, and the really interesting point is the 640 Tensor processor. The latter components have been optimized specifically for in-depth learning, and in this respect the card offers unparalleled possibilities. With a base operating frequency of 1200 MHz and an average clock speed of 1455 MHz provided by the GPU Boost, the Titan V is at a similar level to AMD's Radeon VEGA solution - but achieves all this with a much more complex chip. The feeding of the monster is not ordinary either, the HBM850 memories ticking at 2 MHz are capable of 652,8 GB / s memory bandwidth, the size of the VRAM has become 12 GB.

NVIDIA has given the lesson to TSMC thoroughly, despite the 12nm FinFET + node, the GPU is insanely large, reportedly 815mm² - 21 billion transistors obviously taking up space. However, there is no need to worry about production costs, the Greens have set an unprecedented price in the life of Titan graphics cards, the product can be loaded into the virtual basket for $ 3000. The lucky customer will be able to choose between one HDMI and three DisplayPort outputs.

There is no public data on the performance of the card yet - in the meantime, a few tracks run by VideoCardz, as you can see above - Crysis… will probably run on it and indeed!
