NVIDIA: The GT300 consumes more than the GTX 285

More rumors about the successor to the GT200.

June 2008, 16 introduced its first GT200-based graphics card, NVIDIA launched the GTX 280 and GTX 260, followed by newer models based on the same architecture. GTX 260 Core 216, followed by GTX 260+and then a GTX 295, then a GTX 285and finally the GTX 275 arrived. As NVIDIA has also used its previous graphics chips (GT200 and G92) in its new video cards over the past year, there is increased interest in the GT300, which is made with 40-nanometer manufacturing technology, 2,4 billion transistors and 512 shading units, DirectX 11, OpenGL 3.1 , CUDA 3.0 and OpenCL are compatible, and if all is true, it will be introduced in the third quarter.

The operating frequency of the GT300 is estimated at 700 MHz, its shading units at 1600 MHz, and the effective clock of the GDDR5 memory chips at 4400 MHz, and its data bus will be 512 bits. Some information has also come to light regarding the consumption of the product: the GTDP's TDP is expected to maximize at 300 W, which is higher than the GTX 225's 285 W.
