Quad-core processor in the sub-2 GHz range

Instead of increasing the clock speed, AMD would compete with cheap processors.

According to TechConnect Magazine, while waiting for the higher-clocked Phenom 9700 and 9900 central units, AMD would also launch a fairly low-clocked desktop quad-core model. If the rumor is to be believed, then the current "slowest" 9500 type can be replaced by a 1,8 GHz version, which is called 9100e according to the plans. Apart from the clock, all other parameters are the same as the sibling models, i.e. four cores, 2 MB of L2 and L3 cache will be available to the user.

Quad-core processor in the sub-2 GHz range

I am happy that the processor that will be released in the first quarter of next year will have B2 stepping, which still suffers from the TLB error, the "improved" B3 9150e will have to wait another quarter. We have no information about the expected price yet.
