Multiplatform CPU cooler from ZEROtherm

The ZEN FZ120 has a special lamella design.

The German-based ZEROtherm has announced a relatively simple but great processor cooler called the ZEN FZ120. In line with today’s fashion, it was given an upward-towering tower design, born of a cross between heat pipes and aluminum fins.

From the copper base, four heat pipes transport the heat upwards, which amount of heat is distributed on the lamellas of a special shape. The required draft is generated by a 120 mm fan that can be controlled via PWM. Thus, the agitator speed can vary between 1100 and 1800 rpm and its noise emission can vary between 19,5 and 31,4 dB. Unfortunately, the latter can already result in very loud operation, but at least we can’t complain about the amount of air delivered, which can be as high as 60 CFM.

The 670 gram ZEN is also suitable for cooling Intel and AMD processors, except for S478 / S754 or earlier sockets. It can appear in stores at any time, the starting price is expected to be around 35 euros.
