Mozilla: There will be no Firefox browser for iPhone

Mozilla reaffirmed today that it will not release Firefox for Apple iPhone.

Mozilla's browser will certainly not appear on the iPhone because Apple's development policy makes it impossible to build Firefox for iPhones, said Tristan Nitot, president of Mozilla Europe. The Firefox Home for iPhone project, on the other hand, lives on. The app can convert desktop firewall bookmarks to programs running on iPhone, primarily Safari. The software will also be available for BlackBerry and Symbian, which may indicate that the foundation will not reallocate more resources to develop mobile browsers in the near future.
The company recently released a mobile version of Firefox, Fennec, running on Android and Nokia N900, but it still finds alpha status.
