You can see everything with the ingenious virus!

Kaspersky Lab's experts have identified another dangerous browser-based vulnerability that captures the lives of unsuspecting users using the device's webcam.BrowserProtect virus Perhaps it is well known that Adobe Flash can, upon request, activate the microphone and webcam of our device, which is under the full control of the user. However, a vulnerability exists in Google Chrome that allows the browser to hide the security request panel with a photo, which has the following mechanism: you must remove it with one click (Play or X icon). After clicking, the webcam captures the photo, which is uploaded to the cybercrime server.

Of course, one thinks that this can't happen to him since the webcam of his own device has a light, but when we notice the standby light on our machine, our photo is already on the cybercriminal's illegal server. According to a survey by Kaspersky Lab, the most affected operating systems are Windows 7, 8, some versions of Mac OS X and Linux. The stolen and collected photos can later be used by cybercriminals for abuse and even extortion. In addition, Kaspersky Lab researchers have identified and analyzed cases where cybercriminals have been able to turn on the device's microphone unnoticed, allowing them to record hours of conversations.

Users can’t even imagine who and when, to what extent collects personal information about them that they can use and abuse later, even in awkward situations. Unfortunately, most of the problems are with seemingly harmless smartphone apps that allow cybercriminals to gauge our exact location using a camera and microphone. Kaspersky Lab's experts advise you to disable these features in the advanced settings of Google Chrome, if possible.
