New broom sweeps well, a significant portion of customers immediately forgot about AMD Ryzen CPUs.

Are we forgiving Intel for every trip?

German Mindfactory, one of the largest computer dealers in the market there, has a good habit of publishing the processors it sells month after month. From this we can find out which camp is currently leading, how the revenues have developed, but it also reveals exactly which models were for sale.

From the statistics, customers took a few months after the release of AMD Ryzen to believe their own eyes. Then, of course, sales boomed quickly, which was obviously helped by the fact that the company had built its entire portfolio in a matter of weeks. Intel's response was awaited until October, and it was already a premature date, because Coffee Lake would have been released later - a really cheap motherboard, by the way. The start was hampered by the lack of stocks, the availability only improved significantly by the end of the year. Customers, on the other hand, didn't need more, and based on the numbers, Intel measured a successful counterattack, as the Coffee Lake series immediately came to the fore in terms of the number of units sold - this can of course be seen in the revenue section.

You could say this has meant paper form so far. What’s really surprising is that sales of Intel processors continued to pick up in January, with the result that a serious security flaw unveiled earlier this month didn’t bother customers in the slightest, and despite the negative news, Ryzen couldn’t kick the ball.

All in all, it’s not such bad news, because that’s how AMD has once again been forced to step in, which can have very nice benefits: price reductions, upgrades and new models.
