Micro-USB: same charger for all mobiles!

Within the framework of the Open Mobile Terminal Platform meeting, the market-leading mobile manufacturers have finally reached an agreement.

Under an agreement between Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG, future mobile phones will be given a standard charging connector in the person of micro-USB. This is definitely good news, as it will finally avoid the inconvenience caused by different chargers, and so phones can even be charged from a computer.

Micro-USB - as the name implies - is much smaller than the mini-USB on each phone, development began earlier this year, and the adoption and introduction of the standard is, of course, named after the USB Implementers Forum.
