A new Belkin accessory makes moving easier
The product, called Easy Transfer Cable, is designed specifically for Windows 7.
Anyone who has ever migrated an entire system from one computer to another knows well that, in addition to the time-consuming nature of the process, its complexity can also cause problems. Although the "Transfer files and settings" wizard helps the work on the software side since the release of Windows XP, this function is not worth much without a suitable hardware accessory. Belkin reflects on this problem with its latest product, which simplifies the process to infinity, thanks to careful design and full software support from Microsoft.
In order to use the product marked "Easy Transfer Cable for Windows 7", only a few basic things are required, for example, a free USB port must be available on both machines, Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system must be running on the source machine, and it must also be installed under them you need the app that comes with the device. The latter is not needed on the target machine, as the "Windows Transfer Utility" found in Windows 7 ("Windows transfer utility" for Hungarian-language systems) is fully compatible with Belkin's solution.
The add-on makes it possible to transfer various documents, email messages and settings to the new computer in just 3 simple steps. Once the data transfer is complete, the system prepares a detailed summary of the changes that have taken place, as well as the copied files, as well as an itemized list of the applications installed on the source machine, which includes, among other things, download links to facilitate the acquisition of the latest available software versions. The only weak point of the product is the data transfer speed, which is only 2.0 Mbps "thanks" to the USB 480 standard, but considering the increased compatibility resulting from the use of the connector, this may not be such a serious problem.
The product, which debuts at a purchase price of $ 39,99 (HUF 7400), can already be pre-ordered in some foreign online stores, but we will have to wait until October 23 for the additional official to enter the official market.
