The ASUS Transformer Book notebook has been released

ASUS 2013 is set to make its first big bang for the Transformer Book TX300 - a Windows 8 ultraportable that combines the performance and capabilities of a full-featured notebook with the simple mobility of a tablet. At first glance, the ASUS Transformer Book is a compact, powerful Windows 8 notebook with a 3rd generation Intel® Core ™ processor and a high-capacity hard drive. However, detaching the 13,3-inch Full HD display from the notebook dock, the ASUS Transformer Book seamlessly transforms into a standalone Windows 8 tablet with its own 128GB SSD.

The ASUS Transformer Book is the perfect choice for anyone looking to get a full-featured notebook for work and a tablet. The ASUS Transformer Book features a high-performance 3rd generation Intel® Core ™ i5 or i7 processor for outstanding multitasking performance, as well as a backlit keyboard and a large, multi-finger touchpad for comfortable office use and content production. The ASUS Transformer Book’s 13,3-inch display is covered in scratch-resistant Corning® Concore ™ glass, and Windows 8 can be operated with up to ten-point touches in an obvious way, in both notebook and tablet modes.

Because the notebook dock and tablet are equipped with a separate battery, the ASUS Transformer Book is capable of up to five hours of battery life in full notebook mode and up to eight hours in tablet mode. Battery life can also be extended to up to eight hours in notebook mode by disabling the dock's hard drive and connectors, leaving only the keyboard and touchpad active. Up to two weeks of standby time and less than two seconds of “instant power on” mean your ASUS Transformer Book is always ready to jump.

When it’s fun, the ASUS Transformer Book’s 13,3-inch, 1080p Full HD screen displays movies, pictures and games with exceptional clarity. IPS display technology ensures vivid, accurate color reproduction with a wide 178-degree viewing angle, resulting in bright and clear images from the side.

Thanks to the quality speaker pair found in both the notebook dock and the tablet, the sound of the ASUS Transformer Book is also vivid, captivating when playing all kinds of material. ASUS SonicMaster audio technology, developed in conjunction with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower®, and Waves' technical Grammy®-award-winning MaxxAudio audio processing technology further enhance sound quality. The front end HD camera and microphone of the ASUS Transformer Book are great for video chats, and the optional 720-megapixel camera with 5p HD video recording is available at the back.

The ASUS Transformer Book has separate storage for notebook and tablet modes, with mobile flexibility offering the best features of the “two worlds”. In notebook mode, a choice of 320 or 500 gigabytes of hard drive provides ample storage space for software and personal data, and in tablet mode, a 128 gigabyte SSD ensures apps, movies, music and games load amazingly fast. Because the main components of the PC are housed in the tablet and the hard drive and expansion connectors are located in the notebook dock, the exclusive ASUS High-Speed Bridge technology ensures maximum performance in notebook mode and connects the dock and tablet in a USB 3.0 with a higher bandwidth connection.

The ASUS Transformer Book TX300 will be available in Hungary from the second half of February. The recommended end-user price for the Intel® Core ™ i5 configuration is HUF 369, while the i900 version can be priced at HUF 7.
