Eight new Specter variants have reportedly been discovered, four of which are critical.

Intel processors need to be patched again!

The vulnerabilities (Specter Next Generation) have not been published yet, so the exact technical details are not known, but the existence of the bugs has already been confirmed by several sources. Attackers have certainly exploited previously discovered architectural issues in a new way — except for one vulnerability because it uses a different schema — so the greater threat is again on the server side. It is possible that the vulnerability will also affect AMD, which we will find out after a detailed presentation. There are indications that ARM is not swimming either.

Of course, Intel is already working hard to close the gaps. Given the severity of the problem, the fix could come in two waves: the first in May and the second half in August. The first patch will probably be released in the form of a Windows update, however, it is possible that a BIOS update will be required. The latter is more problematic, nor can we predict when it will occur.

Intel analyzes that four Specter NG vulnerabilities are critical and the remaining four are moderately severe.
