We promised to introduce the AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper 1998X
Based on the title, you might think we have a big face, and really. Of course, we already indicated in our news yesterday that, according to official information, after the leaking news, the AMD processor will be officially introduced today. So we don't predict from coffee grounds either.
As we already knew yesterday, the AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper 1998X has 16 cores and the processor counts 32 logical CPUs due to SMT enabled. We also knew that due to the X notation, the automatic tuning in the processor, i.e. the boost clock, will be higher, so we are expected to get a central unit with a very pleasant tuning potential. What we didn’t know, however, are the clocks and how much this 16-core monster devoured.
Well, according to recent news, the proci has a 3,5 GHz base and a 3,9 GHz boost clock, all of which are accompanied by 155 watts of TDP. We get an integrated four-channel DDR4 controller with the CPU, as well as 44 PCIe threads.
What can we say about this data? Yum Yum!
