Android Ice Cream Sandwich has arrived

Android Ice Cream Sandwich has arrivedGoogle has introduced the latest version of its operating system, Android 4.0.

As we reported, the Galaxy Nexus and its debut Android Ice Cream Sandwich were introduced in the morning. The aforementioned tool has already been mentioned here on the page, so now let’s see what new features the new operating system promises.

The user interface is very similar to what we learned in Honeycomb, but we can see a new font in the system. One of the key innovations is that from now on, there will be no need for hardware buttons to use the OS, as virtual buttons will also be available, giving device manufacturers more freedom. You can even use face recognition to unlock the screen. The browser has also changed, bookmarks will be able to sync with Google Chrome, and a feature already known from desktop browsers, incognito mode, will be added.

With the help of the new e-mail application, we will also be able to search our e-mail offline. Users will also get a new camera app that includes some new features such as face detection or panorama mode. You can modify the captured images as you like with the built-in image editor. The Android SDK is now available for developers.

According to the news, the Nexus S will also receive the new system, so certainly - if not officially - but Samsung Galaxy S owners will also be happy with the Ice Cream Sandwich.
