Dell has confirmed the arrival of its Android mobile phone

The manufacturer has not yet commented on the technical specifications of the "Mini 3i" model.

The trade press has been rumored for quite some time about the arrival of a mobile phone bearing Dell's name, but until now there has been no official indication that the manufacturer would actually develop its own device. Now, however, the ice has been broken, as the Mini 3i type device was officially presented, but the manufacturer did not comment on the technical specifications of the device this time either. Among the relatively few specifics that have come to light is that the new product will be based on the "oPhone" platform, which can be considered a slightly modified version of the Android 1.5 system. Another good news is that, despite the changes made by China Mobile, the software remained fully compatible with the original Android system, so most of the applications written for it can also be run on mobile phones equipped with the oPhone platform. The introduction of the device at the end of the snow seems certain: the mobile phone may first go on sale in China, but it is expected that the device may also appear in Brazilian markets in December. We do not yet have any information on whether Dell will officially distribute the new product in Europe, but we would not be surprised at all if the Mini 3i eventually appeared in the range of a service provider.
