The new iPod has arrived in Japanese stores
New iPods with video playback capability have arrived almost at the same time as the official announcement.
The devices announced on Wednesday are thinner and consume less than their predecessors, so their operating time without a mains plug has been increased from 15 hours to 20 hours. The 320 x 320 pixel display now makes the Apple player capable of playing videos. The device supports playback of MPEG-4 and H.264 movies.
The iPod will be available in two versions that differ in capacity. The cheaper version is 30GB, priced at 34 yen, the bigger sister is 800GB, for which it is 60 yen. To convert into forints, the prices in yen must be multiplied by roughly two.
