You can now surf the internet for free at the renovated West Square turntable courtesy of Samsung

Free WiFi awaits passers-by in Budapest at the Nyugati tér turnstile, courtesy of Samsung and Magyar Telekom. Broadband wireless internet service is available throughout the West Square at a speed of 12 MB / sec. Up to 50 users can easily connect to the network set up at the popular meeting point at a time with their own WiFi-enabled devices.

The Nyugati tér rotary clock, which over time became a popular meeting place for Budapest, started operating in the 1970s, but over the decades its condition has deteriorated so much that it needed a complete technical and external renovation this year. This investment was financed by Samsung Electronics Magyar Zrt. Together with the renovation of the fountain next to the turntable.

The upgraded stainless steel turntable with stainless steel cover was relaunched on October 2011, 3, and its 250 LED display can display not only text but also simpler graphics thanks to its 000 x 1312 pixel resolution.
