The new Radeon and GeForce arrive stealthily

Limited copies of the HD 2900 GT and the new GeForce 8800 GTS became available.

DailyTech reports that AMD has officially included the HD 10 GT among its DirectX 2900 products. However, the big bang was missed this time, even on the manufacturer’s central website, a newcomer can only be found after persistent research. The partners didn’t even go crazy about card production for the new graphics controller, only Sapphire offers the product based on the trimmed R600 core.

Thus, we can only rely on the information they provide that the core on the GT contains 240 stream processors capable of communicating with 256 megabytes of GDDR256 memory on a 3-bit memory bus. The clock signals also correspond to the previously leaked values, which means 600 MHz for the core and 800 MHz for the memory modules.

Regarding NVIDIA, we can also report a change affecting the "old" architecture, as some partners have started to distribute the 112 GTS cards equipped with 8800 calculation units. This version of the controller is not yet based on the G92 core, it is just a G80 GPU with less disables. The new GTSs have so far appeared in the range of three manufacturers — BFG, EVGA and XFX — two of which will hopefully also be respected in the domestic market.
