It's a beautiful new world, robot robot and I'm drinking beer in the garden.

Introductory

Years ago, I bought a window cleaning robot, bigger than the subject of the current test. We used it for two years, then we had to move, pack, move to a temporary apartment, and I sold the machine. Now I don't even regret it, because although we don't have French windows as high as in the old place, which can only be accessed from the outside with a ladder, it would still be nice if we didn't have to rub the glass.

In the old place, the robot came in very handy, as I just tapped it on the glass, then went to write an article, and it did the work. And that was not the only good thing about it, but also the fact that it went up so high that I could have really reached it with a ladder, so cleaning with the robot was much less fiddly.

However, now that we only have normal windows and patio doors, the old machine would be a bit too big. So, from that point of view, I don't regret getting rid of it.

However, I was very happy when the representative of Geekbuying contacted me to ask if I would like to try their small, compact, efficient, quiet, wonderful gadget with great capabilities. In other words, their window washing robot. Nah, how I wanted to, even though I'm not a child anymore, I don't believe in miracles either, but I hoped that he would know at least half of what they promised, because then I would already love him.

In this article, you will find out if it was love at first (or second) sight!

Unpacking, exterior, accessories

I wouldn't dare to call the box of the robot either particularly resistant or particularly beautiful. Fortunately, the box made of thin cardboard was inside another thick cardboard, so the product was not damaged when it arrived. Let's say I don't like this double box, I'd rather put it in a thick one, less paper would be used.

There are a few accessories inside. We have a remote control, they also provide batteries for it. There are two spare MOPs that will clean the window. There are two plastic rings, these are spares, we can snap the two spare MOPs on them, and if it gets dirty during cleaning, I just take off the dirty one, snap the clean one on and the cleaning can continue.

There is also a long safety rope, an external power supply with a long cable, and a razor cable with an EU plug, which will feed the power to the power supply, and we also get a small bottle with a roll-down top, which we can use to fill the machine's water tank. Finally, an instruction manual, without a description in Hungarian. Fortunately, it's not complicated to use, so once you've read the article, you won't even need to pick up the booklet!

Of course, the robot itself is also in the box. A slightly oversized baby biscuit shape with a white or black cover, who buys what. I got the white one. It's not the bright white that will collect dirt in an impossible way, so it's fine. The quality of the cover is also adequate, it does not feel thin or flimsy.

At the top is the power button, three LEDs, and below them, behind a small window, is the remote control's UV sensor. There is a rubber cap in the middle to the right, where you can fill the machine with water, and below are the two round MOPs.

I like it at first, it's not too big, not too heavy (~1 kilogram), the shape is also pleasing. Let's see what you can do on paper!

Paper form

The Liectroux HCR-10 robot window cleaner is the ideal tool for spring cleaning. The device boasts a suction power of 2800 Pa, a Japanese motor and intelligent functions. With its minimalist design and rounded structure, the robot fits perfectly into its environment, and its low noise level (65 dB) ensures trouble-free operation.

The device measures 29,5 x 14,5 x 6,8 cm and weighs 1,03 kg. The 30 ml water tank is enough to clean a surface of 10-20 m². The robot has three cleaning modes, we have automatic and manual spraying, there is edge detection, which protects it from falling. It can be easily controlled using the included remote control. The integrated battery has a capacity of 500 mAh, which enables about 20 minutes of continuous cleaning.

The manufacturer writes about a lot of other things, but they exhaust the bullshit category, to put it mildly. He mentions things like ultrasonic water spraying, which uses air particles to break the water into a fine spray (smiles with a sarcastic laugh...). Then there is the Self-learning system, but they no longer say what the robot learns on its own. We can also read Low temperature & constant pressure technology, which I have no idea what it wants to be. I mean, I still understand the pressure part, but what makes it low temperature...

So the paper form is approx. that's it: it moves on the glass independently or controlled by a remote control, it automatically goes where we want with a syringe, there is an edge sensor so that it does not fall off the edge of the glass, it is moved by a quiet Japanese motor and ensures the vacuum so that it stays above the glass.

Experiences

Let's start by saying that the treatment is very simple. The manufacturer says that the machine knows three cleaning methods, and I say one. Because moving along the glass from bottom to top, from left to right or from right to left are not three cleaning methods. I think so. It's not bad that you know this, because I use one on a window, one on a patio door and one in the bathroom on the shower glass, but still, it's not three ways.

Liectroux HCR-10 - test of a window cleaning robot 11

The remote control also has a start button, a stop button, a button to turn the automatic water spray on and off, a spray button that, when pressed, spits a little water on the glass, and there are direction buttons that can be used to send the machine to a certain part of the glass .

Usage looks like this:

  1. You press the power button on the machine for 2 seconds, the motor starts, you stick the robot on the glass.
  2. You select the one you like from the 3 cleaning modes on the remote control, press the button, and the cleaning starts.
  3. You press the automatic spraying button, the machine beeps twice and the work goes on (if you want to turn off the spraying, a beep indicates that it was successful).
  4. You leave the machine by the window and go out to the garden for a beer.

Okay, but what happens if e.g. power outage? Does the machine fall to pieces? Of course not, there are two safeguards to prevent this from happening. one is that you have a safety rope that you can tie above the window (for example to the cornice) to prevent the machine from falling to the ground.

The other method is more interesting, because there is a battery in the robot, which, when charged, can last approx. It enables 20 minutes of operation even without an external power source. This is not only effective against stains, but also in situations where there is no outlet near one of the windows.

The cleaning process will be slightly different if in the bathroom, e.g. you clean the shower wall:

  5. When you go back, you pick up the broken machine from the ground and throw it in the trash.

Well, joking aside, I found that we do have an edge sensor on the machine, but it doesn't detect it randomly. In the vast majority of cases, the robot stops at the edge of the glass and moves back, but let's face it, if it doesn't do so once and gives in to the force of gravity, we can cry for our robot.

Liectroux HCR-10 - test of a window cleaning robot 13

So, if you don't use it on a window or door that has a frame, but e.g. on retractable glass walls, shower glass, where there is no frame, always tie the safety rope somewhere so that the machine does not fall!

Anyway, I don't really understand this error, because in several cases the cleaning went all the way without error, in other cases it randomly forgot to stop. Did the light conditions affect the fact that the sensor did not "see" the edge of the glass? I don't know, it doesn't matter, you pay attention to this!

Obviously, the quality of the cleaning is an important issue. Well, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Of course, don't expect miracles, it won't scrub off the bird poop that dried on the window from last year, you need dynamite for that, but it does a good job of washing an average dirty, dusty window.

Liectroux HCR-10 - test of a window cleaning robot 14

Again, it didn't scrub off the limescale deposited in places in the bath, but it did remove the traces of small water drops dried from yesterday's bath, as well as the traces of my children's hands and nose.

Fortunately, the mains cable is long enough (4+1,5 meters), I didn't have to use an extension cord anywhere, let's say this is also due to the fact that I didn't skimp on the sockets when planning the electrical network.

The Japanese central motor is really quiet, at least compared to the amount of vacuum it has to produce to support the machine. You won't sleep next to him.

Conclusion

In connection with the window washing robot, I often hear that, well, it's completely unnecessary. And it really is, just like the washing machine and the vacuum cleaner, because there is a broom and a shovel, there is a rock on the bank of the stream, against which we can slap the clothes. Okay, what I wrote was a bit biased, because the fact is, you can do without a window cleaning robot, and we've already done so.

But, I already know what it's like if there is. Imagine tapping on the window and going about your business. You vacuum, cook, play with the child, and I could go on. So in short, you save time and energy while the machine diligently rubs the glass.

Liectroux HCR-10 - test of a window cleaning robot 16

As I wrote, it is not good against very coarse dirt, but if you have such a machine, note that you will want to clean the window not just once, in the spring, but always when you see that it is already dusty. After all, it's not tiring to clean it, it doesn't take up much of your time either, so why not.

At the same time, I don't want to convince anyone, this is, after all, just a test, which revealed that it is not a miracle-working machine, just a relatively simple structure that does the work for you with the help of a few sensors and a powerful motor.

There is no Self-learning system (or at least it didn't come across to me), but it doesn't need to. What I can expect from the machine is much more important, namely that it cleans my windows without me having to stand next to it, and it does!

The introductory sale ended today, which in our case means that the delivery of the machine will start today to those who pre-ordered it cheaply. Fortunately, you didn't miss out on the cheapness either, because I got a coupon for 20 pieces, so the expressly generated for my readers NNNHOCHULH10 code, you can buy it from the EU warehouse for HUF 43 instead of HUF 600 by clicking on the link below:
