LED backlit LCDs from Toshiba

Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology Corporation has unveiled its latest family of LCDs, all of which have received LED backlighting as they age.

The new displays, which are just 2,5mm narrow, have a diagonal range of 8,9 to 13,3 inches, so we soon realize that Toshiba developed them primarily for notebooks, PDAs and tablets. The power consumption of LCDs weighing less than 150 grams is extremely low, even with the top model of 13,3 inches, we can talk about only 4 watts.

According to TMD's schedule, in the second half of 2007, LED-backlit displays will take over the company's production lines.
