Our common responsibility is the epidemic!

For four years, the world has been battling two pests that have now regained leadership, the Autorun virus on external media, and the Win08 / Conficker network worm, which exploits a security vulnerability in Microsoft Windows MS067-32. How is it possible that we have not yet been able to overcome these?
case logo Every month, ESET compiles a top list of computer viruses that spread around the world to find out which malware is currently threatening users' computers the most. The reappearing Autorun and Conficker viruses have now taken the lead again. How is it possible that professionals still can’t beat them? There are several reasons for this, one of which, perhaps the main one, is that a significant proportion of users neglect to upgrade Windows systems for years. Back in 2009, Randy Abrams, ESET's former Chief Technical Officer for Education, produced a comprehensive summary of each version of Windows, including 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems, in which all users were provided with links to click. and which can be used to close the gate in front of the Autorun virus. In light of the current situation, it seems that, unfortunately, many have even ignored this. All virus experts emphasize that it is useless to use a proper protection program if you do not install security patches in the meantime!

According to ESET's statistical system based on feedback from millions of users, in June 2012, the next 10 malware spread in the highest number worldwide and were jointly responsible for 29.27% of all infections.
