A more advanced Cell processor will be included in the 2009 PS3 consoles

Together with Toshiba, Sony will start series production of 45nm Cell Broadband Engine processors next year.

Cell / BE at 65 nm is about 34% smaller than the current 45 nm, and of course the more modern production technology has a beneficial effect on consumption, as it has been reduced by 40%. The more advanced Cell chip will hopefully lower the price of PlayStation 3 consoles, with the "new" processor not only in Sony gaming machines, but also in some Toshiba notebooks and on video accelerator cards will also be deployed.
