EZ Writer II: portable DVD burner from Apricorn

California-based Apricorn Inc. has expanded its product line with a new portable DVD burner called EZ Writer II. The manufacturer has hailed its savior as a perfect solution for writing tasks and playing DVDs and CDs, all for owners of notebooks and netbooks without optical drives. The device is very thin, only 2,13 cm thick, weighs 330 grams, has a glossy black cover, and communicates with the machine via a USB 2.0 interface, and is also powered by USB. A DVD burner with two megabytes of buffer produces the following speeds:

  • DVD ± R DL writing: 6X
  • DVD ± RW writing: 8X
  • DVD reading: 8X
  • CD-R burning: 24X
  • CD-RW burning: 24X
  • CD-ROM reading: 24X
