Serious notebooks under 60 thousand forints?

Are these notebooks at all, or a scam all over?

There’s a whole weird segment of portable machines that we don’t even come across very much in domestic stores. These machines have outstanding capabilities, at least for some hardware components, but for others, we find such surprising solutions.

These machines have a lot in common, and it is no exaggeration to say that they were made for a hoe. And this handlebar is none other than the Intel Cherry Trail x5-Z830 and x5-Z8350 headunits. What is this Intel product? It is a processor designed for portable machines, however, it is not primarily used in notebooks but in tablets. These are quad-core solutions with clock speeds ranging from 1,44 to 1,92 GHz depending on power. The integrated VGA controller also belongs to Intel, by type we are talking about HD Graphics 400.

There are two types of memory and storage builds in these machines. The cheaper ones got 2 and 32 GB, respectively, while the more expensive ones got 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM. Interestingly, Intel officially mentions only 2GB of support, so manufacturers need some magic on these machines. This shouldn't bother us, of course, so much so that I'm missing out on the 2/32 GB machines from the current recommendation because I feel the storage is a bit low.

Finally, one more important thing is the operating system. These machines all run Windows, including version 10. The language of the system is English, but you can always update Windows and install Hungarian from the net!

So let’s see some of the machines on offer, and in the end I’ll tell you if I think it’s worth buying one, if not why not, and if so, what might be the reason we’re investing in it.

Daysky D-book Air Notebook

The manufacturer is completely unknown to me, I am not even investigating it, one of the many Chinese manufacturers. It’s not worth going too far for these companies because their machines are so similar that, with good reason, it will only be the exterior that decides which one to choose.

Daysky's machine is therefore based on the hardware already outlined above. Outwardly distinctive, almost blade thin. The house is no more than 2,5 centimeters at its thickest point, and its weight, which is only 1,45 kilograms, adjusts to this. The display is relatively large, 14,1 inches, but the resolution is not bad either, as we get FHD, 1920 x 1080 pixels, so we get a 16: 9 aspect ratio panel for the machine. Based on the exterior and the connectors, it’s a bloody notebook because on the sides are the connectors we expect. It also has a microphone, USB and HDMI, but of course the camera isn’t left out either.

So the machine is well equipped. A relatively large 8000 mAh battery with a total charging time of 3 hours has also been pressed into the slim housing, so we get 8 hours of standby time in return.

The eye-catching exterior and acceptable hardware don't really cost much, they ask for 51 thousand forints, which is the price of a mid-range phone.

T-bao Tbook Pro Notebook

Another unknown manufacturer, this time with a beautiful golden machine. The configuration is almost word for word the same as the previous machine. We find different data on three points. The first is that, although the TF card slot was also mentioned in the previous machine, here we also learn that the storage can be expanded with a 128 GB card, so there is really enough space available on the machine. The other difference is the display. While before we got an FHD display, now the panel is "only" WSXGA, which means a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels.

We get relatively few pictures of the machine, but based on them, it looks nice. Of course, beauty is just one thing, more importantly, the T-bao's machine is also thin compared to the otherwise thin Daysky D-book Air Notebook, because it has a maximum thickness of 2,5 centimeters, and its already almost unbelievable 1,8 centimeters. is specified. the machine also weighs less than just 1,2 kilograms.

If you want an infinitely elegant and incredibly thin machine and are satisfied with a resolution that is still higher than average at 1600 x 900 pixels, then that machine has been invented for you. The price of the machine is 53 thousand forints, so it is essentially the same as the purchase price of the previous structure.

CHUWI LapBook

The name CHUWI is already better known, with a wide variety of portable machines being manufactured, from tablets to portable machines. This computer is third on the list because of its price, but due to the very small difference, I think it is the best choice so far.

The hardware won’t surprise anyone here either, I won’t even list the components, we get the same as before. However, the machine has some features that are worth considering. One is to merge the good features of the previous two solutions, the second is to even put a shovel on them. The machine's display here is again FHD, i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixels, but the display is no longer 14,1 but 15,6 inches, so this is a machine with a particularly large display. Nevertheless, the maximum thickness here is only 1,8 centimeters. However, the larger size also increased the weight of the machine, here we have to carry 1,89 kilograms with us. However, there is another reason for this increase in addition to the size of the case and display, and that is the battery. The capacity is 25 percent higher than previous machines, and the battery has a capacity of 8000 mAh instead of 10.

What's even more interesting is that even though the machine is bigger, the display and the battery are bigger, the price is only 57 thousand forints, so I think that the 4000 forints measured compared to the previous machine are so little that it might be worth buying this more expensive one.

YEPO 737S

YEPO's machine is the most expensive and the smallest of the currently recommended structures. In the case of notebooks, this is not uncommon, while between 14 and 15 inches the larger ones cost more, while between 13 and 14 inches it is no longer the size that decides. More precisely, however, only in the opposite way. This is because with machines 13 inches or less, we already have to pay that the engineers were able to cram the same hardware into a much smaller housing.

Apart from the size, we essentially find no change. The smaller house didn’t get any lighter than the 14-inch siblings. Although the display is slightly smaller, the resolution here is also FHD. Of course, this is not a big art, manufacturers can achieve this or even four times the resolution on a phone-sized display. The smaller case, on the other hand, has so many disadvantages that the battery can only hold 8000 mAh.

As with the previous three pieces, we can't complain about the exterior of the machine. The exterior is very flashy, and in this respect, any notebook would go well with a well-known but expensive brand of machine. The price of this machine is currently HUF 58.

Lastly, here are some tips on whether to buy one of these machines. I currently have a slightly weaker Windows 8300 tablet with an Intel Cherry Trail Z10 proc at home. This tablet has a higher resolution than the above machines, although the diagonal is smaller. However, its usability and the power of the hardware are similar, and since I use it a lot, I know what the iron built into is enough for.

I mostly work on the machine. In my case, this means writing an article, combined with some image editing. In addition, of course, I use a web browser - I have Chrome installed on it - sometimes Excel runs on it, and of course my email program. So I do things on the machine that most people do on a notebook. For some things, this iron will certainly not be enough. Don’t want to run 3D games with them, and don’t want to cut a movie on them either. They are simply unsuitable for this.

The point is that these machines are suitable for average, everyday tasks. In some ways, they’re even faster than a traditional notebook because they have eMMC-based mass storage instead of a standard hard drive, which means programs load and start up on the machine orders of magnitude faster.

You have seen the prices, none of the notebooks costs 60 thousand forints. If you want to buy one, you can find more machines at the link below, but pay attention, because not all EU Express delivery is available. At the same time, see if you can see the EU flag under the picture of the product, because if you can, you can also buy it from a European warehouse, which is guaranteed duty and VAT free delivery, and you get here faster than if you ordered from China.
