Intel can make a serious mistake, according to an ex-employee! (updated)

François Piednoël shared information on a social site that the major chip maker will not use the “Extreme Edition” token in the future - he says the marketing department is making a huge mistake with this.

The gentleman in question strengthened Intel for 20 years, contributing to the development of CPU architectures such as Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell, Broadwell, Skylake, and Kaby Lake. The "Extreme Edition", of course, has always been the prerogative of the most legacy processors, such as the Core i9-7980XE, the Core i7-5960XE and the Core i7 975, which was not a sponge cake at the time - the latter was released in 2009, but today nor is it roaringly far from a mid-range model.

We are curious to see what changes will take place in the marketing strategy in the future, according to the current trend, e.g. you can expect the following designations: Silver, Gold, Platinum.
