Cost-effective DDR2 and DDR3 modules from Zeppelin

DDR2

Regarding the older type, as already mentioned, we got two pieces of 1GB of RAM. The modules are single-sided and the inserts are BGA-encapsulated.

PCBs carry two stickers on their shoulders, one wearing a barcode while the other trying to provide some information about the product’s capabilities that it doesn’t exaggerate. Zeppelin does not state any technical features other than the amount of capacity and the clock signal, but the lifetime warranty is stated on the paper.

The inserts have a Zeppelin mark on whether it is a product of our own or another company's, we don't know for sure, but we think it's the company's own product. Google-like tracking of the Z1GDD6461707-8 doesn't bring the expected success either.

DDR3

Here, too, the chips rest in a BGA case, the color of the module is similar to the style of its smaller brother, but a slightly brighter brown. Centipedes were placed on both sides of the 2 GB modules.

The information communication procedure is no different either, we get the same two stickers, i.e. a barcode and a factory paper. The known specifications have not changed either, only a capacity of 2 GB and a base clock signal of 1333 MHz are described, supplemented by a lifetime guarantee. We hypothesize that the UL mark indicates a very favorable - CL8 - timing.

We found Zeppelin screening on the tiles again, and the search for the Z2GD312884208-13 series was no longer successful.
