Introductory

Luckily, notebooks will be cheaper every year, because if they weren't, the Hungarian currency would perform well, and of course due to other difficult conditions today, we could buy a 600-year technology for 10 than the Russians. For us, at least in this respect, we have a gazlink. We are not penalized, so even though the dollar-forint exchange rate is close to its current low, we can get a great machine for 120. For example, the ALLDOCUBE GTBook.

However, unfortunately, prices are expected to settle in the fall. Settlement in this case, of course, means an increase, even a significant one. Actually, that’s why I’m writing this article right now, because in the summer it doesn’t make much sense to test a notebook anyway, the dog doesn’t read what I write.

Okay, let's get into it, let's see why I think it's the best notebook for 120 today!

Accessories, external

I will include the accessories in this chapter because we only get a stack of keyboard stickers in addition to the EU plug charger. From time to time, most of the Hungarian accented letters can be selected if you do not want to spend on them separately.

However, the exterior is much more interesting! The engine room is 323 x 207 millimeters, not more than 17 millimeters at its thickest point. Of course closed. And the ALLDOCUBE GTBook weighs just 1,2 kilograms. For this, the English rightly say it is a notebook, a name used not only for computers but also for notebooks. It really isn’t much bigger or much heavier than a notebook.

The manufacturer emphasizes that the entire housing is made of metal, which is a big positive at this price level. At the bottom of the machine you will find a ventilation opening and a small mounting window with two screws. I will write about these in the next chapter!

There aren’t many connectors, but I think what you have will be pretty much enough for everyday use. From the front left, we see a full-fledged USB Type-C channel. Full-fledged means that sound, images, and data can flow through it in two directions. What’s more, I’ll go further, you can also charge the machine through the port, so if you have a Type-C notebook charger at home, you can also use it for the machine.

On the left side, there is only one 3,5-pin connector left. There’s no craze on the right either, in addition to a piece of traditional (A) USB 3.0 port, there’s a memory card reader struggling.

If we open the lid of the machine we will find some interesting things. Important e.g. highlight that the American keyboard is wall-to-wall, with little empty space next to it. This means that the manufacturer may have included in the capabilities to get a full-size keyboard. It actually reveals even modesty because the keys on the desktop keyboard are smaller than the keyboard on the ALLDOCUBE GTBook.

In front of the keyboard is a large touchpad, above the standard LEDs that indicate the status of CapsLock and more. Another line of interest with the LEDs is that the microphones are here. Yes, no spelling, we get two microphones, I think stereo that way.

And the most interesting thing about the exterior is the webcam, which is not in the usual place, under the ear of the display, but under it. Specifically, it is built into the hinge of the keyboard. I'll write about that in the last chapter!

Let's see what you can find on the ALLDOCUBE GTBook profile! Well, there are plenty of abilities that keep our mouths open. Not because there is no such thing in other machines, but because it is only on machines that cost at least double that in the lower voice. Let's see what they are!

Let's start maybe there that the ALLDOCUBE GTBook is already a got the latest Intel Celeron processor, the N5100 based on the Jasper Lake core. The proci, now manufactured at 14 nanometers instead of 10, has 4 cores capable of executing instructions on 1-1 threads.

The CPU has a standard clock of 1,1 GHz and a maximum of 2,8 GHz for turbo applications. The L3 cache is 4 MB and the TDP is just 6 watts. In practice, this results in the fact that although there are vents on the bottom of the machine, active cooling is not required for use, so the ALLDOCUBE GTBook operates completely silently.

The Celeron N5100 also includes an integrated video controller. It is an Intel UHD Graphics controller that can run at a base clock of 350 and a maximum clock speed of 850. It can even drive a 4K display with a 60 HZ image refresh, with DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.5 support behind it, so in principle you can even play on it.

In addition to the proci, we no longer have 4-, nor 8, but 12 GB of memory, which of course is LPDDR4x. the memory clock is 2933 Mhz, of course dual channel, because the prociba integrated memory controller is also dual channel.

The storage is not bad either, a removable M.2 256 GB piece lives in the machine under the assembly window mentioned in the previous chapter. In my experience, if you don’t want to install your notebook to waste, 256 Gb will suffice, but if you grow it, you can replace it with a larger one.

What else?

There's the display, for example, which is of course IPS and of course FHD, i.e. the resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. The aspect ratio is 16: 9 and the aspect ratio is 14,1 inches.

There are standard wireless connections as well, but there’s something interesting here as well. The fact that Bluetooth is 5.1 and not 4.2 or 5.0 is good, but not too rare. However, the fact that Wi-Fi is no longer n, set ac, but the latest Wi-Fi6 in the machine is a real sensation. And not just in this price range, anyway, because manufacturers don’t yet excel at using Wi-Fi6.

The battery is not small either, according to the manufacturer, a 5 mAh unit has been added to the ALLDOCUBE GTBook. And here comes the full USB Type-C connector again, through which, as I wrote above, the note can also be charged. The fact is that the machine supports a 000-watt PD fast charge, which allows us to pump the battery full of electrons very quickly.

We can also find some interesting things from the side of the software. And this curiosity is that Windows 10 is no longer preinstalled on the machine. In English version. Fortunately, this was not a problem even in the case of Windows 11, the Hungarian language can be downloaded and installed, and the operating system becomes Hungarian in virtually every taste.

I’m staying away from analyzing Windows 11 right now, if only because I still haven’t been able to like it. It could easily be my “factory fault,” so I don’t want to influence anyone. This is the future, I have to accept it sooner or later.

Let's focus on what it's like to use the machine!

Experiences

Well, there is not much difference between the Celeron N5100 and the previous series N4xxx in terms of turning on and starting. The N5100 is a bit faster, but it's not noticeable without a stopwatch. The boot of the machine itself and the loading of the operating system are extra fast, there is no need for sleep mode, we can safely turn it off, we will still be available in a few moments.

Because of the performance of similar machines, I keep getting the arc that these procs aren’t good for anything, in fact, there was a reader who dared to report that Intel didn’t even mean these CPUs for notebooks, but for something else. Who knows what?

This statement is somewhat contradicted by the fact that not only Chinese companies but also reputable manufacturers are building laptops on such units from ASUS through ACER to Leovo (sorry, the latter is also Chinese). And if these companies do that, it is suspected that these procs are still good for notebooks.

What is a fact, however, is that Celeron processors have never been famous for their performance. Of course, these are getting stronger year by year, but they still represent the entry level, which means that these computers are best suited for everyday tasks.

The N5100 is also ample for email, word processing, Excel spreadsheets, web browsing, watching movies on YouTube or any other streaming service provider, so in short, roughly 99 percent of the activities an average person plans to do with a computer.

The remaining one percent should look like a stronger, more expensive machine, just like those who want to cut 4K videos. Celeron processors are not for them.

The display is essentially perfect, with all the good features of the IPS getting the right contrast, good blacks and a good viewing angle as well. However, this is not the level of a graphics monitor, the NTSC color space coverage is 72 percent.

Regarding the display, I should also mention that because of the sight, it was definitely worth putting the camera at the bottom, because the frame around the display is extremely narrow, and not only in its own category, but also among the more expensive images.

I promised above that I’m still talking about the camera, and I can’t miss that just because I feel like it’s the only notable “bug” in the machine. I put the bug in my cat's nail because the camera itself is good, at least it's good for resolving the video chat with it.

What is strange, however, is that it takes us not from the front, but from a little below, which is not the most ideal, because the big case cannot be removed even with the head down. If you are not affected by this case problem, take it for granted that the camera is perfect in every way.

If I wanted to look for something that is not above average, I would even mention the sound. Well, this is exactly what is appropriate in this category, approx. I got what I expected.

Let's get back to the processor a bit, because I ran some tests. For example, I measured the read / write speed of the memory. The former provided 17 MB / second and the latter 045 MB / second under AIDA29. The copy speed was 331 MB / second, while the latency was 64 ns.

These values ​​fit the hardware, so nothing extra, just as fast as it gets out of the iron. It will be enough for daily tasks. For my part, I was also happy with the speed of the storage, but if you don't (I don't know why you wouldn't), you can switch to faster.

I even ran PCMark, it's not very complicated, but it gives quite a bit of data. The total score was 2563, which I think is appropriate. All in all, you can read from the test scores that the machine will be suitable for your basic tasks, much less for gaming and graphic work, but I wasn't surprised.

What is even more important is the battery life. The 5000 mAh battery can't be said to be a combo, however, the machine has been running for quite some time. With a little forced use, a lot of printing, it was 5 hours, which in my humble opinion is an acceptable time frame. Honestly, knowing the battery capacity I expected less, maybe the new proci is what makes power management so good.

In terms of daily use, it is also important that the keyboard and touchpad are above average. These are also components that stand out from the price range in terms of quality, upwards, of course. It feels really good to type on the keyboard, better than on my desktop, even though it’s not a cheap piece, I type a lot when I bought it for quality.

I tried to cover everything, I hope nothing was left out. In any case, I will summarize the point here!

The ALLDOCUBE GTBook has become a truly special machine. It is among the first to come with the newer series of Intel Celeron proci, It is among the first (at least among Chinese machines) that has already received Windows 11, the first in its category is the amount of memory (12 GB) and due to Wi-Fi speed (Wi-Fi6).

So because of a lot of things, it has become the most machine.

In comparison, the price is friendly. Even without the coupon, because it costs about 150 thousand forints, compared to ASUS ExpertBook, which is currently (probably) the only one available in Hungary with an N5100 processor, for which they ask for 185-195 thousand forints.
