Two new VOIP devices for every occasion

D-Link's VoIP product range will be enriched with two new products for home and office use from July.

DPH-300S
The DPH-300S VoIP DECT Phone combines all the convenience of a traditional cordless (DECT) phone with the affordable VoIP call charges - all of which, of course, no longer need to be turned on. The incoming telephone line can be connected to the RJ-11 port (normal telephone socket) of the device, while by connecting one of the two Ethernet ports to the home router, we can also make and receive calls via the broadband Internet connection.

The phone has the usual call waiting, call forwarding, redial and phonebook functions, but caller display and handsfree are also provided. An external antenna is located only on the base unit, so the handset - up to five of which can be connected to one base - fits comfortably in a smaller palm. The cordless range is 50m indoors and 300m outdoors.

However, what makes the product really interesting and useful is the SIP VoIP system. With a live broadband Internet subscription, you can even call abroad for free or at a very discounted minute rate. The device can manage 2 SIP accounts, so you can be connected to up to two service providers at the same time. D-Link supports the open SIP protocol as opposed to Skype, so the customer is free to choose from any domestic VoIP provider (Megaphone, NeoPhone, NetPhone). The display shows the direction from which the call is coming, and whether we initiate it in the landline or VoIP direction can be decided with a simple preselection.

The SIP DECT phone will be available in Hungary from mid-July at a gross end-user price of HUF 34. However, the high price compared to DECT phones quickly pays off due to the drastic reduction in telephone costs.

DVG-5121SP
The DVG-5121SP 2-port VoIP phone adapter is a small converter to which you can enjoy all the benefits of Internet telephony without switching devices by connecting up to two analog telephones (or even a telephone and a fax machine). Thanks to the built-in router, the Internet connection of networked computers is seamless, and the built-in QoS support provides the necessary bandwidth for seamless telephony. Make no mistake, you don't even need a separate router. By connecting the landline to the built-in PSTN port, you can make phone calls even in the event of an interruption of the Internet connection or even a power failure - even without interrupting the ongoing conversation!
