In 2012, Telenor, a founding member of the Mobile Wallet Association, set the goal of testing NFC-based services, such as mobile payments, loyalty points by touching the phone to a merchant terminal, together with market participants and customers. Telenor chose State Printing House as its professional partner, which started the development of the TSM (Trusted Service Manager) system guaranteeing the safe operation of the technology last year and at the same time established its Mobile Development Business Unit. As a member of the international organization promoting the dissemination of technology, the NFC Forum, the Company was one of the first to join the Hungarian Wallet Association this year, in which it actively cooperates with representatives of the Hungarian service sector as the professional leader of the TSM working group.

During NFC testing, Telenor also participates in the Wallet Association's consumer test program, which aims to make NFC-based virtual bank cards, loyalty cards, and other services built into mobile phones available to users participating in the project. The Alliance's pilot program, together with financial institution and various commercial service partners, will test new mobile payment and other solutions in practice.

Telenor Hungary's parent company in Norway has already performed several successful NFC tests with other market participants, which were positively received by both users and service providers.
