Pictures of the GeForce GTX 480 and GTX 470 boxes
As March 26 gets closer and closer, more and more little info about the new GeForces is popping up on the net. Some technical parameters and more important details are also revealed about the boxes photographed.
Colorful has unveiled at CeBIT a package of Fermi-based GeForce GTX 480, which in this case means the box, the card will arrive in the famous iGAME series. In addition to the usual, mouth-watering information, the cardboard also provides some interesting information. Support for DX11, SLI, PhysX, CUDA and 3D Vision Surround doesn’t surprise anyone, but the amount of GDDR5, which was previously expected to be above 2GB, is interesting, but Colorfol has indicated a value of 1536MB on the cover.
Maybe in the end the Greens wanted to carve a little at the cost of the GTX 480, but it’s even more likely that they were never designed with quantities above 2GB, meaning 1,5GB was the norm from the start. We also get information about the card’s hunger, Colorful recommends a minimum 600W power supply with a 42A branch (or branches) capable of delivering 12A, which may not seem so high considering this will be the new top card. The PCGH site assumes a purchase price of between € 500-600 for the GeForce GTX 480.
