Plextor has come up with an external Blu-ray player

Last month, Computex was already able to admire Plextor’s external drive.

The product is now ready to hit store shelves and you just have to wait for customers to take it home and play Blu-ray discs with its help. The manufacturer mainly recommends the PX-B120U player for mobile computer owners. The novelty is 165 mm long, 165 mm wide and 30 mm high and weighs 600 grams. It communicates with the computer via a USB 2.0 port and also handles power consumption via USB. The various media can be brought inside with the help of “supercharged” mechanics. You can read Blu-ray Discs at 4x, DVDs at 8x and CDs at 24x. You can only burn a CD with it at a speed of 24 ×.

Plextor comes with the Cyberlink Power DVD included with the drive and comes with a two-year warranty in EU member states as well as Norway and Switzerland, in other countries customers can only enjoy the warranty for one year. The price is around 93 euros (~ 27 forints).
