Separate Thermaltake power supply for video cards

The device that can come in handy if you have money for a dual card GeForce 8800 Ultra system, but we wouldn’t replace the cheap Codegen power supply for any money.

If my memories don’t cheat, FSP was the first to also make a power supply for video cards that simply had to be pushed into a 5,25 ″ slot and after some kneading, the hungry video card could suck cocoa from the Booster X power. At the time, many were wailing at the sight of the solution, and environmentally friendly users would have fired the semi-external power supply with fire and iron according to their hearts.

Since then, the storm around the initiative has calmed down a bit, and the product flow just hasn't started. Now Thermaltake wants to ride the "old" wave again, for which the manufacturer once again indicated the release of the consumption indicators of the new generation video cards as an explanation.

The auxiliary reactor, called the Power Express, will be available in 650 and 400 W packages with two 12 V branches inside, each with a load capacity of 30 A, to remove the load from the computer's main power circuits. In addition, the unit, which occupies two optical drives, not only proudly proclaims its raw power, but, like normal power supplies, is also equipped with various protection solutions, such as. short circuit and overvoltage protection. Fortunately, the usage is not limited, with the two 6 and 8 pin PCIe connectors we can also power SLI and CrossFire systems.

The price and release date of Power Express are not yet known.
