In the fourth quarter, Intel owned 59,1 percent of the total graphics controller market, up from 52,5 percent a year earlier. Thanks to the integrated graphics controllers, the American company closed the year with a confident advantage.

AMD was able to fight for a 24,8 percent stake over the period (23% in Q3), while NVIDIA stood at 16,1% after growing by less than half a percent.

According to JPR analysts, shipments fell by 2011 percent in the last quarter of 10,4, compared with an increase of 8,9% for the full year.

The situation in the discrete graphics card market is much worse. In the last three months, there has been a decline of 12 percent and 3,5 percent year-on-year. Obviously, this is very bad news for NVIDIA, which is still putting a lot of emphasis on discrete GPUs. It is important to note that the JPR analysis does not take into account smartphones, tablet PCs, where NVIDIA is strongly represented with Tegra chips.
