Cooler Master sued for infringement!
The accuser is the Asetek. The company claims that Cooler Master infringed two patents with their Seidon240 water cooler.
In fact, for the first time, Asetek produced an integrated liquid cooler similar to the Cooler Master solution for the OEM market, which consisted of a radiator and a pump integrated into the base. However, it is also true that Cooler Master is not the first to issue such cooling after Asetek, so it is suspected that the company intends the lawsuit against CM as a test. If so, many manufacturers will have something to fear, as the products are very similar, essentially only differing in perception.
Asetek is now demanding that the infringement be terminated with immediate effect and that compensation be paid for the loss of revenue suffered by them as a result of the Cooler Master product.
The lawsuit is a bit like Apple v. Samsung, where Apple accused the competitor of copying their flat, screen-integrated, rounded-heeled phone and tablet. It is clear that anyone who wants to build a compact liquid cooler can do very little other than build the pump on the base, and if he does so he is already infringing on Asetek's patent rights.
We are looking forward to what will come out of the case!
