Another Intel Core 2 Duo processor

According to Intel’s latest roadmap, Conroe’s core processor family will be expanded with another member.

Intel’s Core 23 Duo processors, available for purchase July 2, will not yet include the newcomer, which is expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2007. The CPU with code number E4300, 2 MB of cache and 800 MHz FSB will operate at 1,8 GHz.

Although the price of the new processor is not yet known, considering the $ 1,86 (183-39 thousand forints) amount to be paid for the 40 GHz processor, it will probably be one of the best purchases in its category. Thus, it can be a very serious opponent of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ version, which comes with a 2 × 256 KB second-level cache and a purchase price of over HUF 30 in the last quarter of this year.
