This image is a perfect illustration of the evolution of Intel's processors over the past decade and a half, the evolution of enclosures, from various Socket concepts to Slot 1 sliding as a video card into the motherboard slot to modern "footless" CPUs. It shows spectacularly where we started, where we are at the moment, and where we are going. True, the low resolution of the photo and a little coolant paste overshadows the image, but the point is:
