New processor from Intel, plus tuning

The new CPU tortured on Russian Overclockers.ru will probably arrive this year.

The 6550 has a factory clock of 2,33 GHz, which has been tweaked by tuning masters to 3851 MHz. The interesting thing about the CPU is the 1333 MHz FSB, which is the factory setting. They managed to achieve said tuning with a FSB of 2200 and a multiplier of seven.

The processor will be a member of the currently running Core 2 series, with two cores and a 1333 FSB. This essentially means that it is the same as the current series, with the only difference being the speed of the system bus.

Core 2 versions planned for the fall will receive the xx50 serial number, which marks the elevated FSB. Currently, xx00 base numbered versions and new xx20 Intel Core 2 CPUs in the low-end category are available.
