The development of the Bulldozer is progressing well

AMD engineers managed to cross the first Tape-Out phase.

Dirk Meyer, CEO of AMD, recently said that the development of the company’s next processor architecture is progressing very well, as the first, so-called Tape-Out phase has already taken place, so in the second half of this year the samples can be delivered to the partners without any problems. It also turned out that native 16-core server processors will be built for this architecture, however, “only” eight-core will be the strongest instance on the desktop front. The Bulldozer will be made with 32nm SOI manufacturing technology and will deliver much higher performance than its predecessors.
