New Intel processors on the horizon

The largest processor manufacturer has made an official announcement.

Many users are already looking forward to the practical coming of the Penryn era. Well, it seems we don’t have to sleep that much before buying, because if we can believe the manufacturer, there will be a few models from the family available by the end of January. For ease of understanding, here is a table of upcoming releases:

Of course, as the picture above shows, it’s not just desktop solutions, Intel is putting a lot of emphasis on reducing consumption in 2008 - and by that we mean the mobile segment the most. 45nm manufacturing technology and further enhancements will allow us to squeeze slightly more power out of the new Centrino platform using less energy.
